Sámi Shorts – From the Shadows Into the Light

Screened:
TUE 20/10, 21:00 SLOTTS
SUN 25/10, 11:00 FYRIS

The films in this programme explore Sámi experiences, identity, and rights from a variety of perspec-
tives, ranging from personal memories to collective struggles and visibility. Some films examine silen-
ced history and the traces passed down through generations that continue to shape the present day.

Others highlight the power of collective action and the defense of Sámi rights. But there is also room
for a humorous portrayal of life between borders and cultures in a northern landscape. Together,
these films create a moving and multifaceted portrait of Sámi life, past, present, and future.
