European Film Academy Short Film Candidates 1

These are the 25 candidates for the award European Short Film 2021, which will be awarded at European Film Awards on December 7. 4 out of the candidates compete at this year’s festival: Displaced (p 38), Easter Eggs (p 36), In Flow of Words, (p 32) and My Uncle Tudor (p 43). All 25 candidates are also available at Kortfilmfestivalen Play.

BEYOND IS THE DAY

Somewhere in Europe, somewhere in Poland lives Pawel – a simple man working on a small river ferry close to his village. He spends most of his day taking the villagers to the other side of the river. Every day looks the same, but one day he notices somebody traversing the river by swimming. This person is Mohammad, an immigrant from Palestine. There is finally somebody Pawel can talk to.

DUSTIN

In an abandoned warehouse, a crowd is dancing as one on 145 BPM techno music. Among them is Dustin, a young transgender and crew: Felix, Raya and Juan. As the night draws on, collective hysteria morphs into sweet melancholy, and euphoria into yearning for tenderness.
